The Falkland
Islands are serviced by two major flight routes that provide
regular and convenient access to the Islands. The
international airport is based at Mount Pleasant Military
Complex, approximately 37 miles from Stanley - the capital
city of the Falklands.
LAN flies to the Falklands every Saturday morning, departing
from Santiago and flying via the southern Chilean city of
Punta Arenas. Once a month the flight also stops in Rio
Gallegos (Argentina) in both directions. |

who have been providing cruise vessel services for more than
twenty years. Penguin Travel specialises in cruise ship
shore excursions, land-based tours, internal transport and
transfers as well as domestic and international flights. Our
Fishing Agency also provides a full range of port agency
services to maritime clients? |

| Both East and West
Falklands have excellent internal road systems linking key
settlements and areas of interest. Outside of Stanley the
majority of roads are un surfaced (gravel), and therefore
require a vehicle capable of dealing with unfinished
surfaces (such as a 4WD). |
 |
| Each year thousands
of tourists make the journey to the Falklands onboard a
cruise ship or expedition vessel. This increasingly popular
method of travel allows people to visit many sites that
remain largely inaccessible to land-based tourists in the
Falklands, all from the comfort and safety of a world-class
vessel. |

Taxis are readily
available around Stanley at an affordable rate, operating
seven days a week. Please note that taxis are not metered in
the Falklands, so be sure to confirm the price of your trip
before setting off.
