FALKLAND ISLANDS BY COMMERCIAL FLIGHTS:

The only commercial flights directly to the Falkland Islands are provided by the South American based carrier LAN airlines. The flights are from Chile - Santiago flying via Punta Arenas - and land at Mount Pleasant Airport, in the Falklands (international airport code MPN). Flight connections are available from international carriers in Europe, North America, Australasia, and Africa. Once a month the flight also stops in Rio Gallegos (Argentina) in both directions - (although future political factors affecting this cannot be ruled out). An overnight stay in Chile (in Santiago or Punta Arenas) may be necessary - on flights in both directions - depending on international connnections.
